Day 01 Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
Arrive at Nairobi Wilson Airport for your scheduled service flight of approximately thirty minutes to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is a real gem of a park situated right at the foot of Africa's highest mountain , Mount Kilimanjaro [ 5895 meters]. Elephants and giraffe abound in the forest; cheetah can be found around the salt licks, and giraffe, zebra and buffalo feed on the plains. The snow capped peak of Kibo makes a wonderful background for wildlife photography.
Named after the trees under which it is built, Acacia Tortilis, Tortilis Camp creates an oasis below the omnipresent mountain. It comprises seventeen tents under thatch and on wooden platforms, and there is a swimming pool. Activities are by 4 x 4 open vehicle, and may include bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners, visits to a Masai village, and guided walks, in addition to the normal game drives. Overnight at Tortilis Camp.

From your private cottage, placed well away from your neighbor, you'll enjoy a 270" view of the surrounding park with its scattered kopjes and delightful baobab trees. We've designed the open planned rooms individually, incorporating the rocks into the structure. Time spent at Elsa's Kopje is certain to be a unique component of your visit to Kenya. Morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight at Elsa's Kopje.
Day 7 Meru National Park
Early morning, morning and afternoon game activities. We've named our lodge Elsa's Kopje - for Elsa, the orphaned lioness reared by George and Joy Adamson and returned to the wild in Meru, and for the rocky outcropping it sits on. Overnight at Elsa's Kopje. Our camp is in the protected Koyiaki wilderness area, away from lodges. The camp is hidden in a grove of Warburgia ugandensis overlooking the plains. All tents have en suite shower and toilet, and a verandah. There is a maximum capacity of twelve guests. Game activities may include drives by 4 x 4 vehicle, guided nature walks, night drives, bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners
Days 8 - 11 Meru to the Masai Mara
Charter flight to Nanyuki, to connect with the flight to the Masai Mara. Afternoon game drive, followed by two days of game activities. Note that there is a luggage restriction of 12 kilograms on charter flights! Overnight at Elephant Pepper Camp. This Reserve is one of Africa's best known wildlife areas, and is part of the Serengeti ecosystem. A land of undulating hills and rolling grasslands it supports a large animal population. Even a casual visitor is treated to the sight of Lions in prides sometimes numbering more than thirty beasts with a handsome black maned male in dominance; a cheetah at great speed runs down its prey; a leopard in the lower branches with its kill.
In the Mara river there are crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks, and hippos playing in the water. Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Topi, Gazelle are all in abundance, and during the months of July to September the great migration of Wildebeest and Zebras spill over from the Serengeti. The sight of these beasts legging it across the Mara River, avoiding both the crocodiles in the river, and the predators harassing them from behind is amazing, and the topic of some of the most spectacular photography ever seen.
