Accommodation:
The Camp was renovated in February 2005 and is set in an oasis of calm along the bank of the Luangwa River. The camp fits effortlessly into the surrounding riverine habitat with fantastic views and it is not uncommon to see elephants crossing the river and strolling through the camp on a regular basis.
Croc Valley Camp offers a variety of different accommodation options to suit everyone’s pocket: From self contained chalets on platforms, spacious en-suite tents on the river bank, affordable backpacker rooms and a Family Chalet to the campsite with thatched lapa's, electrical points and water outlets all on lush green lawns.
The chalets are completely environmentally friendly and in order to escape the off-season floods our chalets are raised on stilts providing a fantastic viewpoint from which to see the wildlife that wanders through the camp.

Throughout your stay, our chef's can provide delicious meals and snacks from original recipes using fresh ingredients for your meticulously prepared meals and for those that wish to self-cater or camp, full kitchen facilities are provided.

Between safaris, in
the midday heat, the big outdoor swimming pool provides the

scattered around the camp over-seeing the river and the
swimming pool.
The Croc Valley Bar and Restaurant are open during the day and at night it is open till 9:30. Guests are welcome to order anytime from our restaurant menu which offers anything from small snacks and sandwiches to full course meals.

The fully stocked bar offers a wide variety of local and imported beers and spirits as well as cool drinks, mixers and a variety of bar snacks.
Activities:
For scenery and variety of animals, South Luangwa (area of 9050sq kilometre) is probably the best park in Zambia. Walking safaris first began here, and are a thrilling way to experience Africa's wildlife at very close quarters.
There are 60 different animal species and over 400 different bird species. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of many of the migratory birds plus regular residents like Open Billed Storks, African Fish Eagles, beeaters and many more.
Whether you want to go on safari in the comfort of our especially adapted game-viewing vehicle or want to venture out on foot, we offer a safari tailored to your needs with resident professional guides whose intimate knowledge will guarantee an unforgettable experience in the pristine wilderness of the South Luangwa National Park .
The valley experiences two distinct seasons, the Dry
Season from May to November, and the Green Season from
December to April. The best time to view game is between
July and September. The coldest time of year is June and
July. By October temperatures reach 37 degrees centigrade
but the game viewing "hots" up too as the outlying water
dries up forcing the game to the riverine area.
Take
a morning or night drive, or both, in our open game vehicle
and watch the antelopes, elephants, zebras, warthogs, lions,
leopards, abundance of beautiful birds and our very own
Thornicroft giraffe, which is found nowhere else. Join our
Walking Safaris on nature trails within the National Park,
escorted with a professional guide and fully trained scout.
