The Klaserie Drift Safari Camps are home to a wide variety of predators, including lion, leopard, smaller cats, spotted hyenas, jackals and wild dogs. As such, the thrill of witnessing a kill looms around every corner. Buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, elephant, a variety of buck, an array of birdlife, baboons, monkeys and mongooses can be spotted daily – to name but a few.
Location:
Misava Safari Camp lies sheltered on the fringe of a dry riverbed in the shade of Acacia, Jackalberry and Toad trees in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Misava’s villa style living is a celebration of family and romantic getaways, depending on your journey. Spacious interiors, luxurious ensuite bedrooms and an opulent garden offer guests a variety of spaces in which to relax and slow down, or view animals in their natural habitat, whether at the waterhole or just passing by.
Accommodations:
Four luxury and authentic villa style suites accommodate eight guests in a private and tranquil setting. King sized beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito netting are just some of the in-room facilities guests can expect. Luxury bathroom amenities complete the large en-suite bathrooms. Each suite has its own entrance leading off from the main lounge and dining area. A stable door exits onto the lodge gardens. Misava Safari Camp can be booked as exclusive use or guests can book per room, as required.

Facilities:
The spacious and tastefully decorated lounge forms the focal point of the main lodge. An open plan kitchen is where our highly trained chef prepares meals pleasing to even the most sophisticated palette.
A cosy upstairs lounge is the ideal space in which to spend time reading or catch up on the latest news and sport. Sliding doors open onto the cool dining deck where guests enjoy buffet style breakfasts and delectable savoury and sweet high tea.
A wooden walkway
winds its way across the capacious and lush garden to the
dinner deck which comprises of a generous infinity pool,
open air bar and lounge adjacent to the boma overlooking the
riverbed and onto the high traffic waterhole and reserve
beyond.
Game Viewing & Activities:
Interpretive morning and afternoon / evening game drives are conducted daily by hand-picked, qualified guides who are passionate about the bush. Guides impart their vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of the big five.
In this quiet setting, wildlife feel safe, and throughout the relevant breeding seasons many young can be seen making their home within the reserve. In 2016, leopard cubs were spotted in the park, a pride of lions had 7 cubs, and in 2017 a pack of wild dogs made their den close to Misava Camp, complete with many pups. In 2018 we were blessed again with witnessing a new litter of painted wolf pups, a beautiful pair of leopard cubs and 3 more lion cubs.
Walking safaris:
There is so much more to the African bush than viewing the larger mammals from the comfort of a vehicle. A guided walking safari offers guests the opportunity to experience the bush from an entirely different perspective. Guests can choose to go on an early morning walk before breakfast or a late afternoon adventure, depending on your preference. Accompanied by a qualified, professional trails guide, you will be able to smell, touch and feel the African bush on foot, an experience that will forever be etched in your memory.
Kids Activites:
Children of all ages are welcome at Misava Safari Camp and there are a host of board games for kids to enjoy and a library full of books to read. If the kids prefer the outdoors there is a huge garden to explore, including a tree swing, infinity pool and a fantastic lawn to play ball. On request, one of our guides will take the kids tracking after breakfast. They can even create their own plaster of Paris mould of their favourite track to take home and show their friends.
