Singita Pamushana Lodge (Malilangwe Game Reserve) Zimbabwe

Location:

Singita Pamushana Lodge is located near Buffalo Range, within the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in south-eastern Zimbabwe and is set within a remote wilderness area that is bounded in the west by the rich riparian woodland flanking the Chiredzi River, which flows into the larger Runde River in the south-west of the property. To the south-east is Gonarezhou (‘place of the elephants’) National Park and Mozambique’s Banyini and Zinave Parks. Perched on top of an escarpment, with spectacular panoramic views, Pamushana is the most exquisite lodge in Africa.

Built amongst the rocks and trees of this spectacular precipice, using indigenous building materials and traditional African thatching, Pamushana blends in beautifully with the surrounding environment.

There is a twice-weekly return flight to Buffalo Range Airport from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport on Mondays and Thursdays. Singita Pamushana Lodge is a scenic 15-minute drive from the airport. Simply Africa's Finest!

Accommodation:

Each villa is an extravagant space, built with intricate hand-hewn stone work, reminiscent of Great Zimbabwe.

Exotic works of art and richly textured materials from all over Africa blend in with hand-carved tables, big comfortable chairs, shelves of books and bowls of fruit creating a tranquil ambience. Walls of sliding glass lead out onto a teak leisure deck where you can lie in your own swimming pool enjoying the breathtaking views.

The lodge's five luxury suites and one villa are set amid lush gardens and feature spacious decks, their own private plunge pools, and incredible views of the Malilangwe Dam and sandstone hills in the distance. There are twice daily game drives with an experienced guide and tracker, or you can book a San Bushman Rock Art tour and see monuments dating back 2000 years.

Facilities:

As you enter the main complex through mosaic tiled pillars, you face a 'reflection pool' of shimmering water with a backdrop of the sky and mountains beyond. There is a swimming pool, a game viewing deck, lawns and patios for relaxing and sun-bathing.

There is also a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna and gift boutique. The circular dining room is quite unique. The entire interior has been hand-painted with a detailed mural depicting the magic of the African bush, complete with wild animals and birds.

There is also an 'al fresco' dining deck, overlooking the Malilangwe lake. Pamushana prides itself on excellent cuisine and attentive, but unobtrusive, service. Lounges, library, dining room, al fresco dining deck, swimming pool (which can be heated in winter), game viewing deck with telescope and open fireplace, fully equipped gymnasium, sauna and gift boutique. The innovative design and boldly opulent decor provide unrivalled luxury and glamour in the heart of the bush - Africa's Finest!

Activities / Wildlife:

Individually tailored game walks and game drives with experienced professional guides. Spotlight night drives, canoeing, bass and bream fishing. Visits to see the San (bushman) paintings. Ornithological and special interest safaris. Day excursions to Gonarezhou National Park and three nearby golf courses can be arranged.

Malilangwe Private Wildlife Reserve has the widest variety of mammals in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. Characteristic species include The Big 5 (elephant, rhino (both species), lion, leopard and buffalo), giraffe, zebra, hyena, hippopotamus, nyala, impala, kudu, painted hunting dog, waterbuck, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, roan and sable. With over 400 recorded species of birds, and one of the highest concentrations of raptors in the world, the Reserve offers exceptional bird watching.
