Kapani is an exclusive, privately owned camp situated on
a large lagoon beside the Luangwa River accommodating only
20 guests. The ten brick and thatch rooms are designed for
the warmer weather, with high ceilings, overhead fans and
large gauzed windows.
Each of the 8 standard suites has an en suite bathroom
and lounge with a bar fridge. 2 Lagoon Houses overlook the
Kapani Lagoon and are very private and spacious with en
suite facilities. Game viewing facilities are tailored to
the guests in camp at the time, but usually small parties
are driven in the park twice daily in open vehicles. Night
drives with a spotlight are one of the highlights of the
Kapani Lodge accommodates 16 people. The stone built
rooms are designed for the warmer weather with tiled roofs,
high ceilings, overhead fan and large gauged windows.
Each bedroom has en suite shower, washbasin, toilet and
private verandah with bar fridge. There is an open plan bar
and lounge area, a viewing platform overlooking the lagoon
where meals are taken in the shade of evergreen trees.
Kapani has developed a reputation for cuisine of
excellent quality. Also offered are a secluded swimming pool
and a gift shop.
Normally, small parties are taken game viewing twice
daily in open vehicles. Night drives with a spotlight are
one of the highlights of the Luangwa Valley, giving the
chance to see nocturnal animals, especially leopard, for
which it is famous. During the dry season (June - October),
those keen on walking can set out on foot with a guide and
armed game scout for morning walks from Kapani, or on a more
extensive foot safari from the bush camps.

taken on the terrace and brunch taken on a shady platform
overlooking the lagoon.
There are also a main chitenge with a bar and lounge area
and a secluded swimming pool at the far end of camp.
Activities / Wildlife:
The Luangwa Valley is regarded as the home of the walking
safaris. During the dry season, those with a sense of
adventure can set out on foot with a guide and armed scout
for morning walks from Kapani or alternatively enjoy a more
extensive foot safari utilizing one of the nearby bush
Game viewing is in open 4 wheel drive vehicles or on
foot, with activities being tailored around your
requirements. Game viewing is exceptionally good during the
dry winter months of June through October. Typically small
parties are taken into the park twice daily in open
vehicles. Night drives with a spotlight are one of the
highlights of the Luangwa Valley, providing the opportunity
of seeing nocturnal animals, particularly leopard, for which
the area is renowned.
