African Safaris and Travel - Our safaris reflect every travelers style, time frame and budget!

Follow in the footsteps of the greatest Africa explorer; Dr David Livingstone, by taking an adventurous canoe trail down the Zambezi River to the very lip of Victoria Falls. This privately guided trail encapsulates the true beauty of the river’s natural ambience whilst enabling participants to get a small flavour of Dr Livingstone’s historic journey. The trip passes through both the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and the Zambezi Game Park where sightings of Elephants, Hippos and other game species are common.

Trails are offered for a duration of three nights and start at Islands of Siankaba for the first night. Guests then take a leisurely paddle approx. 20 kms downstream to The River Club for night number two, they then paddle approx. 35 km down to Livingstone Island for high tea and are then transferred to Stanley Safari Lodge for the third and final night. Accommodations are of an extremely high standard and all canoeing equipment, local drinks and meals are included. The canoe trip itself is operated by Mokoro Quest (division of Livingstone Adventures), an independent specialist canoe safari outfitters who, after operating since 1981, have built a superbly reliable reputation. They operate fiberglass ‘klepper’ two man canoes which have proved to be the most safe and practical canoe for this type of river adventure.

Two fully qualified guides accompany every trip and are very keen to share their wealth of knowledge on the flora, fauna and history of the river. Safety is paramount and all safety equipment and full radio support is provided. Minimum 2 - Maximum 8 people per trip. Trips run 1st July – 1st February (river levels dependent)

Description – NIGHT 1

Guests arrive at Livingstone Airport (arrangements can be made for collections from Kasane or Victoria Falls Airports at additional cost). They are transferred to the Islands of Siankaba for their first nights accommodation. After settling in on their first afternoon guests are given the opportunity to take a sunset river cruise, experience a guided walk through the nearby rural villages to gain first hand knowledge of local culture or just relax and have a massage in preparation for the paddling to come.

Dinner is served and the next morning, after a refreshing nights rest, guests meet their river guide at breakfast and are given a full safety briefing. After breakfast guests alight the canoes for instruction on the technicalities of their craft. Once everyone is settled and ready - canoes set off. River guides will then set lunch up on an island mid way between Siankaba and River Club. Canoes arrive River Club +/- 14.30. Guests will find their luggage in their rooms having been delivered by Siankaba so they only need to carry what they require on the canoes to a minimum.

Description - NIGHT 2

After checking in and settling into their rooms guest may relax or have a massage in the afternoon. Prior to dinner guests will be given a talk on the journey that David Livingstone made and will be given the opportunity to find out about his life and times. After a morning paddle a full lunch will be served on Kilai Island (the very island that David Livingstone camped upon and guests will be given the opportunity to view the grave of Chief Sekuti which Livingstone described in great detail). After lunch guests paddle to the Royal landing for motor boat transfer to Livingstone Island, where they will be given a tour of the island and see the spot that David Livingstone first viewed the falls.

Description – NIGHT 3
